FAQ: Physical Therapy During the COVID-19 Pandemic

By: Andrew Rathjen, PT

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to much uncertainty throughout medical community. Rathjen Physical Therapy is now open for patient care. We are taking added precautions for our patients and staff. Answers to some frequently asked questions about receiving care at Rathjen Physical Therapy are below.

Can I be seen at the Clinic?
Yes, we are accepting new and established patients at this time for all conditions.

What can I expect upon arrival at the Clinic?
We would ask that you call our office number: 308-381-2424 upon arrival. We will come out to your car and obtain a temperature via our no contact infrared thermometer. We will also ask you to fill out our brief questionnaire in regards to your health. If your temperature exceeds 100 degrees, we will ask you to re-schedule at a later date.

Can I have family or friends attend the session with me?
We ask that you enter the facility alone, unless you are a minor or require special assistance. We are minimizing the use of our waiting room.

Do I have to wear a mask?
We ask that you bring a mask with you. If you don’t have one, we can provide one. Understand that the use of a mask is for protection for you and the clinician. The 6 foot distance will typically be unable to be observed during the session and the use of a mask by the provider and patient will greatly limit any possible contamination.

What will the clinic do to protect me?
We place an extremely high priority on your safety with use of masks for clinical and front office staff. We have continued to maintain a safe working environment with cleaning of the rooms and equipment between each patient visit along with appropriate hand washing. We closely follow CDC and health department recommendations.

How many patients will be in the clinic at one time?
We have a maximum of 4 clinicians and will typically not exceed 6 patients in the clinic at the same time. As a healthcare facility, we are not limited to less than 10 individuals, per public gatherings, but we anticipate being under that capacity a majority of the time.

Is Telehealth available?
Yes. We utilize a HIPPA compliant platform. You may call our office to arrange this.
